BILLIE’S TOP TEN TIPS FOR SUCCESS!
Brought to you by Finish Line Educational Consulting (FLEC)
Relax! Put your family in my hands or in those of one of our trusted professionals at FLEC. Take the stress out of the school admissions process.
Let’s Brainstorm! What type of school is best for my child - progressive or traditional? Am I looking for a day school or boarding?
Let’s Prepare! Work with us to learn about the requirements for each school and develop a checklist comparing your family’s goals with each school’s offerings.
Worried About Testing? - We can help! Our team can work with your family to determine what tests are required (and the deadlines) for each school and each child. Students entering different grades may have differing test requirements.
Master The Interview! - Both parents and students will often be required to attend an interview during the admissions process. We can set up mock interviews with your child to build confidence and to overcome interview jitters.
Kindergarten Admissions? Learn about it with us! The process for kindergarten differs from that of grades 1 through 12. The “Playgroup” is a unique part of the admissions process. Listening is an important component in these playgroups. We can help your child practice listening activities with an experienced member of our team.
Plan Ahead! (School Tours) The admissions process starts a year in advance with some schools offering “sneak peek” spring tours 18 months in advance. It is important to see a school in person to get a real feel for the school’s environment. Do the children look happy and engaged? We can help you schedule your tours early and, with our Liaison Plus service, we can accompany your family to tours and interviews.
Network with The School Community! Once you have been accepted to a school, we can facilitate communication with other parents in the school. Learn about their experiences to get even more tips to ensure a successful start to the school year.
Making a Move? Are you relocating from another part of the US or from overseas? Whether you are looking for an urban, suburban, or rural environment, we can offer advice along with referrals to trusted professionals to facilitate your relocation.
Stay in Touch! FLEC offers ongoing support to help your family with educational summer programs, summer camps, student housing, and Gap Year ideas.
